Rv boondocking tips1/6/2024 This webpage has great info on dispersed camping in Forest Service sites. The western United States has far more options for these spaces than other parts of the country, but it’s a really wonderful option there. US Forest Service or BLM Landĭid you know you’re allowed to camp anywhere on US Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land as long as it’s not marked otherwise? That means there are tons of dry camping opportunities in these public lands. Most cities have rules that state you may not park for longer than a certain amount of time (often 72 hours), so it’s best to keep this to a night or two if possible, especially if you’re not moving spots. So long as there isn’t signage forbidding overnight or extended parking, it’s generally fine to park on a city street.

Breakaway lyrics1/6/2024 The bridge in this song is really important."Buildings with 100 floors, swinging around revolving doors, baby I don't know where they'll take me." This means that she needs to follow the path and go with the flow, and cant take any pressure anyone gives to her. She says "Spread your wings and learn how to fly", meaning, to get away and find yourself. You have many stressful things in your life and you just need to let go. I think this song is about letting yourself go. This is truly an amazing and inspiring song, that basically everyone can relate to. She concludes by telling us that whatever happens, she will keep going on, and that regardless of what happens she will be find a way to be happy and fulfill her wishes. This part of the song talks about the endless paths the changes in her life could take her, she's trying to be a bit more realistic and honestly tell us that she doesn't know what will happen from now on. I think she's mainly talking about her family, she's telling us that even if we decide to change our lives we shouldn't forget about the people helped us walk through it.Īll the situations she described are basically phsyical "dreamy" representations of happiness, this part of the song is about her expressing her strong desire to be happy. She will breakaway from whatever is holding her back.ĭarkness represents all the negative stuff in her life and she's telling us that she will finally walk into a happier phase of her life, but that she refuses to leave behind the people she loves. She's going to "spread her wings and learn how to fly", she wants to be free from whatever is holding her back, she wants to grab all the endless possibilities that are ahead of her, she's making wish and actually trying to fulfill it. I think the chorus is the most important part of the song, it's about finally taking initiative and changing your life for the better. I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky It implies she lived under other people's shadows that she's unhappy in general. It's about being alone and feeling different from other people. I think this relates to the first verse of the song, it's about living as a minority and not being heard nor understood by people. There are many ways to interpret this, my take is that again she lacked initiative to change her life, "she'd pray" it implies hoping someone would change her life for her, she was just waiting for her life to change rather than taking the initiative herself. This verse talks about her desires, she's imaging her life could potentially be, and at the same time she's wondering is she will ever be happy. The verse "I'd just stare at her window" implicates that whenever she was faced with such moments she would just hope things would change, that deep down she wanted to make a change in her life but at the same time she lacked the initiative, she would just stare she wouldn't actually try to grab what was behind it. The word rain implies sadness, the rain in the lyrics represents those moments when everything came crashing down. Perhaps she was an introvert, shy, anything really, it's phrased to be as relatable as possible. We can go as far as defining her as an underdog. Grew up in a small town - My take on this is that she grew up being a minority, there was something that made her life harder than most people. I'm going to try to find a general and relatable meaning behind the song rather than a literal and specific one. I think the song is about changing your life for the better, it's about making changes that will allow you to live your life as happiest as possible. Maybe I don't know where they'll take me, but I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change I'll do what it takes 'til I touch the skyīut I won't forget all the ones that I loveĪnd I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change I'll spread my wings, and I'll learn how to fly

Business credit secrets1/5/2024 But the investor figured that 1,000 a month was peanuts because he believed the sales price of the property would continue to appreciate at 15 percent a year. After paying property expenses and his mortgage payments, the investor faced an alligator (negative cash flow) that chewed up 1,000 a month. One such investor, for example, bought a 300,000 fourplex with a down payment of 30,000. However, it is called a noncash expense since the investor doesn't actually write out a check to depreciation. In effect, depreciation is another expense that can be deducted from investors' operating income. The purpose of depreciation is to allow investors to recapture this wearing out of the asset so that they could theoretically replace it once it wears out. Uncle Sam is saying that investors can have a larger cash flow from operations because of this depreciation. Uncle Sam, the IRS, says that investors can deduct the value of this depreciation from their income so that the investors' tax liability will be reduced. For investment property, depreciation is a theoretical wearing out of the property that is deducted from income for taxation purposes. In the previous section it was stated that depreciation is a loss in value due to any cause. I hope you love my Christmas dining room this year! It is always such a joy to decorate and come up with a wonderful theme and share with you all. I love the simple detail on these glasses, but I feel they still helped the area stay very Christmas and festive. With the beautiful table top I used my favorite gold napkins and layered two Lenox holiday glasses. I found these all on Zara Home and will link them all below. I used traditional red and green colors, and I added more greens into the fun textured plates, layering two and adding in a red detailed napkin. I mixed and matched the sizes and varieties of pots for a wonderful and elevated arrangement. They have them in different shades of pinks, greens, reds and creams. I found the flowers at Walmart & Trader Joes and went with 3 different colors. This year instead of my regular floral centerpieces on the table, I decided to do the cutest pots filled with different varieties of poinsettia. I decorated the tree with velvet ribbon and antique ornaments, which I feel gave it a French country vibe that I really love to have as a basic theme for our home. The room gives a great evergreen feeling. It makes it feel so cozy when we eat and walk up to the house because that window faces the front yard. I love that I have more room in this house, with a formal dining room, and I even added in our Christmas tree to the room. This year, in our new home I decided to add more to my dining room decor for Christmas.

Occamism had wide influence between the 14th and 17th centuries, contributing to the progressive dissolution of Scholastic Aristotelianism. William of Ockham, or William of Occam, (born c. Divine omnipotence also includes the idea that God can comprehend a nonexistent object: an anticipation of the "deceptive God", a theme Descartes used in asserting the certainty of the cogito ergo sum. Despite this, they posited God's absolute power to explain the contingency of creatures and the laws of nature. The Occamists using the nominalist method separate theology from Aristotelian foundations, making them lose any possibility of presenting themselves as science, and reducing confidence in the power of reason applied to supposed demonstrations of God's existence and any immortality of the soul. Criticism of the concept of cause and substance, especially by the Occamistic Nicholas of Autrecourt, reduces the sciences to immediate and intuitive ways of knowing. It is therefore necessary to revise the logical structures of discourse and language to separate the sign from the signified thing. The further one goes from experience and generalizes, the more one imagines the constitution of the universal expressed by names. The universals, which exist only in the mind, have no correspondence with reality and are mere signs that symbolize a multiplicity of individuals. Occamism questions the physical and Aristotelian metaphysics and, in particular, insists the only reality accessible to knowledge is intuitive.

Large ice blocks1/4/2024 Now they are known as Middletons, and customers throughout NSW flock to the central-west institution, drawn by the “special” recipe that makes up their milk and water-based icy treats. Marie and her husband, Dick, bought the icy pole factory from Max Muir in 1984 and slightly revamped the marketing – under Muir they were just known, accurately if rather unromantically, as round icy poles on a stick. Smaller chunks are known as "bergy bits" and "growlers" it says.Middletons Ice Blocks have been made and sold out of a Federation house in Hill Street, Orange for almost 80 years. To qualify as an iceberg, an ice block must be higher than 4.8 metres (16 feet) above sea level, be at least 29 to 49 metres thick and cover an area of at least 500 square metres, according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. If they break apart more letters are added to differentiate the fragments. Icebergs are traditionally named after the Antarctic quadrant in which they were originally detected, then a sequential number. They found that the breakup of ice shelves along the eastern Antarctic Peninsula was linked to warmer atmospheric temperatures gradually moving southward over the past half century, while warmer seas weakened the ice sheets from below. This was followed by the breakup of the nearby Wilkins Ice Shelf in 20.Ī study of the Larsen Ice Shelf published Wednesday in the journal Geology confirmed that it had been stable for the past 10,000 years. Major chunks of the Peninsula's Larsen Ice Shelf-the largest remaining in the region-disintegrated within days in 1995, and again in 2002. Satellite photo of iceberg A-76, a gigantic block of ice measuring 4,320 km2, half the size of the island of Puerto Rico, which broke off from the Ronnes Ice Shelf in Antarctica. "Elsewhere around the Antarctic continent however, the warming ocean is melting other ice shelves and this is allowing the ice to drain more quickly off the continent, increasing the rate of sea level rise," he added.Įarth's average surface temperature has gone up by one degree Celsius since the 19th century, enough to increase the intensity of droughts, heat waves and tropical cyclones.īut the air over Antarctica has warmed more than twice that much. He said because icebergs are already floating, they do not significantly contribute to sea level rise as they melt. "The ice shelf is constantly being fed ice from the Antarctic continent, and eventually chunks break off the ice shelf in this way, forming these big flat icebergs and maintaining a balance," said Alex Brisbourne, a Glaciologist at the British Antarctic Survey. In this case, however, scientists say that the formation of A-76 is a result of the "natural cycle" of the Ronne Ice Shelf. "How long this will take and how much the iceberg will fragment before reaching the island, as well as the exact trajectory are hard to predict, though," she told AFP.Ĭalving - shown here at the Apusiajik glacier in Greenland - is the term for when an iceberg breaks off. Last year the berg, by then known as A-68a after a piece snapped off, appeared to be on a collision course with a remote South Atlantic island home to thousands of penguins and seals, threatening to impede their ability to gather food.īut it broke apart before it could cause any damage to the abundant wildlife in the British Overseas Territory of South Georgia.Īnne Braakmann-Folgmann, a researcher in iceberg motion at the School of Earth and Environment at Leeds University, said it was likely A-76 would follow the trajectory of A-68 towards South Georgia. Ice sheets atop Greenland and West Antarctic hold enough frozen water to lift oceans a dozen metres (40 feet), drowning cities and redrawing the planet's coastlines.Īt 5,800 km 2, 350 meters thick and weighing a trillion tons A-68 was one of the largest icebergs ever seen. The monstrous A-68 iceberg calved in 2017 from the Larsen ice shelf, which has warmed faster than any other part of Earth's southernmost continent. It may be a giant, but A-76 is by no means the largest iceberg in recent years. It joins previous world's largest title holder A-23A-approximately 3,880 sq km in size-which has remained in the same area since 1986.Ī-76 was originally spotted by the British Antarctic Survey and the calving-the term used when an iceberg breaks off-was confirmed using images from the Copernicus satellite, the European Space Agency said. The iceberg, measuring around 170 kilometres (105 miles) long and 25 kilometres wide, with an area of 4,320 square kilometres is now floating in the Weddell Sea. Slightly larger than the Spanish island of Majorca, A-76 had been monitored by scientists since May 13 when it began to separate from the Ronne Ice Shelf, according to the US National Ice Center. It is the latest in a series of large ice blocks to dislodge in a region acutely vulnerable to climate change, although scientists said in this case it appeared to be part of a natural polar cycle.

Under the hoods of the Base and Sport models, you’ll find a 152-horsepower 2.0-liter “flat” 4-cylinder engine coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Impreza is offered in three trims: Base, Sport, and RS. Let’s see how these two compact cars compare. There are many reasons why the versatile Civic is a reigning Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award winner.
